About
I’ve been a seat of the pants computer nerd since 1995 or so. I can’t really categorize myself as much more than a tactical generalist. Were I to have technical specialty, I guess it would be in distributed systems design and support; but that’s largely due to my background in grid and clustered computing, and my present life as a operations admin for a top tier SaaS group.
I’ve gone looking for information on countless topics. It seems that I can never find information on the details. I find hints and leads, but often end up spending hours hacking around on something until I’m able to get it working, and even then I’m not always excited by my implementation. After some thinking I realized that I should consider bringing to light how I’ve gone about doing what I’ve done. Unfortunately, I’ve had multiple site migrations and a few other hurdles so I don’t have all of my early notes, but I’ll definitely share what I can.
While I’m starting anew, I will also be taking this opportunity to begin discussing my growing experiences with business, industry decisions, and the dynamics of the computer industry as they appear to me from neck deep in the trenches.
Please feel free to participate in any positive fashion. I’m not very interested in any sort of anti-hero behaviors, but I’m absolutely willing to take helpful input and any constructive criticisms for sure.
